Our fund-raising activities haven't been possible for the last year, but we've still been able to make a significant contribution to the National Trust's work, thanks to our members' generosity in still paying for their membership. As a result, in 2021 we were able to contribute a total of £4,900 which will be spent on:

"On behalf of my colleagues in the Midlands Region, I take this opportunity to thank you and the members of the National Trust Solihull Centre for your generous donation.

Our Supporter Groups are superb ambassadors for the work of the Trust and the contributions of time, money and resources you donate are greatly appreciated."

Mary Riley, a much-loved member of the National Trust Solihull Centre, passed away in late 2019. She left us a very generous legacy in her will. As she had a close connection to Baddesley Clinton, we decided that this should be donated on to a restoration project there.

After discussions with the National Trust we have agreed that the legacy will be used for the restoration, over several years, of the stained-glass windows which are such a feature of Baddesley, and we have been able to donate a wonderful £30,000 to get the work under way.

We're delighted to see that work has now started on the project.

"I just wanted to first say a very grateful ‘thank you’ for the latest donations to the properties and the coastal fund, and for overseeing the legacy of the late Mary Riley.

This will of course make a significant difference in tackling the necessary works to the property’s historic stained glass window conservation work. Of course, it will take quite a while to organise with the pandemic ongoing, but having funds secured means we have confidence to proceed."
